Teen Challenge Cambodia offers a one-year residential program for adolescent and adult males and females. The program is designed to help them learn how to live drug-free lives. Teen Challenge offers a well-developed, multi-phased discipleship training program that includes Bible study, character development exercises, English classes, work assignments, vocational training and chapel services. There is also opportunity for the residents to be involved in community outreach projects. Residents are challenged to embrace the Christian faith. When they do, their lives are transformed and they find true meaning and purpose are on their way to becoming productive members of society.
Street Ministry
At Teen Challenge, we believe in bringing hope to people in need. On Thursday nights, our team goes to meet women who are addicted to drugs and working in prostitution. Addiction and prostitution go together and create a vicious cycle, but there is hope for a better life. Our team goes to meet the women where they are. On Thursday nights, we go to Wat Phnom, a well-known place for finding women who work in prostitution. We talk with these women, learn their names, build relationships, and hear their stories, and we invite them to a new life. We share about the Teen Challenge Women's Center, and we invite them to join our year-long rehabilitation program. We often share a small amount of food with these women too, just a taste of a new life they could have if they accept our offer. Reaching these women is challenging because they have been hurt many times, but we are committed to shining the light of hope in the darkness of addiction.
Sustainable Development Initiatives
Our heart is to eventually reduce the dependency of outsider's support and increasing our incomes through sustainable development projects. From the very start of the Cambodia Teen Challenge, we have been working tremendously to strategize how to financially survive on the ground step by step by increasing supports within our Cambodia Teen Challenge.
Currently, we've been implementing various income generation projects that including: Growing rice, fish pond, organic gardening, raising chicken, pig farm, and repairing motorbike. Not only that we also have now been operating our tailoring and makeup shop within one of our Women's Home to generate income. Also, we are currently looking for a good location and raising more money to support our start-up cost of setting up our Teen Challenge Shop that would including: Restaurant, tailoring and makeup. Our heart and vision is to have 10 Teen Challenge Centers to be planted in Cambodia, and stepping out to plant TC Centers around our neighboring countries such as, Vietnam, Lao PDR, Burma...
