Teen Challenge Boy's Project
Project Goal:
To transform individual life of the student from drug addiction background through transitional residential care and reintegrate them back into the community.
Overview:
Teen Challenge’s Boy Center is located in Samrong District, Takeo province. It provides care, protection, and rehabilitation to children and adult male from drug addiction backgrounds. It helps the children and adult develop physically, spiritually, intellectually and socially to equip them to become responsible adults, be able to cope in mainstream society. The children and adults come from a variety of extremely addiction situations, which include using methamphetamine, ice-meth, heroin, glue and alcohol addictions. The children and adults come from different triangles such as; from Family, referred NGOs, local churches, Department of Social Affair. All children and adult in the Teen Challenge Boy's Home’s care receive balanced nutritious meals and loving support from their teachers. The teachers are trained and encouraged to be loving and caring towards all the children and the adults in their long-term care. We network with organizations, local churches and Department of Social Affair that care for Cambodian children and adults who have been victim of drug and affected by drugs. These children and adult receive care in our Residential care and their families are encouraged to visit over their children and relatives in the program in order to restore relationship between them.
The Teen Challenge’s Boy Center provides a residential care for street glue kids, young adults who have life-controlling problems; especially with drugs and alcohol problems. Teen Challenge of Cambodia offers a one-year residential program for street glue kids of adolescent and adult males. The program is designed to help them learn how to live drug-free lives. Teen Challenge offers a well-developed, multi-phased discipleship training program that includes Bible study, character development exercises*, English classes*, work assignments*, vocational training*, Individual counseling and group counseling therapy* and chapel services. There is also opportunity for the residents to be involved in community outreach projects.
